Measure the real rise
We measure from the door threshold down to finished grade at the bottom, then divide it into equal risers. Uneven steps are where people trip.
Many Cypress homes sit on a slab a step or two above a level yard. We build the landings and steps that bridge that gap, footed so they stay attached to the house and finished to grip in the rain.
Credibility comes from how it's built, not from promises. Here's the order of operations on every concrete steps & stairs job.
We measure from the door threshold down to finished grade at the bottom, then divide it into equal risers. Uneven steps are where people trip.
Steps get their own footing on compacted ground, so the clay below does not lift or drop them away from the house over the seasons.
Where it makes sense, we anchor the steps or landing to the foundation with steel so the two stay together instead of opening a gap.
Steel runs through the treads and landing so edges and corners hold up to daily use and the occasional dropped cooler.
A broom finish gives grip during the long rainy stretches, and the treads are pitched slightly so water runs off them instead of standing.
Most contractors vanish after the deposit. We pick up the phone, show up when we say, and stand behind the work after the truck leaves. The follow-through is the difference.
A foreman we know runs your job and a vetted crew does the work, managed by Lucky's, one company accountable from the first call to the final walkthrough.
COI and lien waivers on file before we break ground. The documentation that lets commercial clients pay and gives homeowners peace of mind.
Prepped subgrade, reinforced and mixed to spec for the job, and proper curing. We build credibility through the process, not promises. On concrete steps & stairs, that starts with measure the real rise.

Steps are priced by the job, based on the number of risers, the size of the landing, footing and demolition work, and how they connect to the house. We measure on site and give you a written number.
Usually they were poured without a proper footing, so the soil under them swelled and shrank separately from the house foundation. Over a few years that walks the steps away. A rebuild with its own footing, tied to the foundation where possible, addresses the cause.
Yes. A landing big enough to stand on while the door swings is a common upgrade, and we can often combine it with a patio extension so the whole area works together.
We measure the total rise from the threshold to finished grade and split it into equal steps within code limits. If the yard will be regraded as part of the job, we measure from the new grade, not the old one.
Surface chips and minor spalling can sometimes be patched. Steps that have settled, tilted or separated from the house usually have a footing problem, and patching will not hold. We tell you which one you are looking at.
Light foot traffic usually waits a few days while the concrete gains strength. We give you the dates for your pour before we start.
